Contemporary Youth Dance Performance Company
The ONE Performing Arts Youth Dance Company is a mixed level Contemporary, Jazz, Ballet, Hip Hop dance and performance company for youth and emerging adults. This class will begin with a warm-up focusing on correct body placement, strength and flexibility, as well as, connecting to and dancing with the body’s center/core, facilitating a better sense of balance while in a neutral position and while in motion. Across the floor and center combinations using dance and movement skills. Movement will also be explored through improvisational and compositional problem solving activities. This class will increase the student’s movement vocabulary, increase the student’s ability to express themselves through movement, and enhance the student’s ability as a performer.
Both male and female dancers at all levels of experience are welcome! Dancers must possess a serious desire for learning, a love for performing, and an openness to creativity and FUN!
Time: 4:30-6:00pAges: 9-18Place: Carnegie Arts Center in the LoftCost: $210 (14 classes)
Dancers will be learning a dance to be performed at the second annualUNITY Dance Project on Saturday, May 2nd, 2015
